Los Altos Hills, CA – Carly Fiorina announced today that she will begin the formal process of exploring a bid for the Republican nomination, to challenge Barbara Boxer for the United States Senate in 2010 by filing the name “Carly for California” with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
“The people of California have serious concerns about job creation, economic growth and the role of government in solving problems that touch each of our lives,” said Fiorina. “I have received a great deal of encouragement to make a run for the Senate in 2010 from people across the political spectrum because these are all issues that need focused attention in Washington, D.C. Today’s filing with the IRS is a logical next step in the process of evaluating running for this office.”
By filing Carly for California with the IRS, Fiorina will receive an employer tax- identification number and can now begin making a full and thorough evaluation of her candidacy for the U.S. Senate. In the coming months she looks forward to talking with policy experts, donors, advisors and as many Californians as possible. “I’m looking forward to talking with Californians across the state about the issues that matter to all of us in the weeks and months ahead,” Fiorina added.
