Carly Fiorina Discusses Innovation and Entrepreneurship At Tri-Valley Business Council

Pleasanton, CA —U.S. Senate Candidate Carly Fiorina, at a town-hall style forum with members of the Tri-Valley Business Council, today discussed the important role innovation and entrepreneurship play in California’s economy and the need to keep our business environment free from regulations, new taxes and new policies that stifle new research and new ideas.
“California’s diverse economy is home to some of the world’s most innovative and cutting-edge companies and we must do everything we can to make sure they can continue to invent, grow and create jobs,” said Fiorina. “Today with the news that unemployment has continued to rise to levels we have not seen in decades, it is imperative that we reduce regulation, lower the tax burden, and get capital following into the economy so that the engine of our economy – new and small businesses – can grow and create jobs.”
Founded in 1994, the Tri-Valley Business Council represents businesses in the cities of Danville, Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Ramon. The Council is widely respected as the definitive voice of businesses in the Tri-Valley.
“I am running for the U.S. Senate because I believe these issues are not being addressed in Washington with the kind of solutions we need to put our state and nation on the right economic path. It is time to replace Barbara Boxer and her failed record with someone who is a problem solver and will focus on the issues Californians care about: creating jobs and halting out-of-control federal deficit spending,” continued Fiorina.
On Wednesday, Fiorina officially announced her candidacy for the U.S. Senate. She is traveling across the state this week holding town-hall style meetings and delivering remarks on crucial economic issues.
