Barbara Boxer Votes to Put Nation Deeper into Debt
January 28, 2010
SACRAMENTO, CA – U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Senate’s vote to increase the federal debt ceiling by $1.9 trillion, meaning the national debt could climb to $14.3 trillion:
“Once again, Barbara Boxer has voted to mortgage our children and grandchildren’s future and to push our nation even further into debt. We have seen this cycle repeat itself time and time again. Congress overspends and maxes out its credit card. But rather than pay down the balance, the politicians like Barbara Boxer vote to raise the limit so they can keep charging away using our tax dollars. It is time for Washington to learn to say ‘no’ to more spending and ‘yes’ to responsible fiscal management, just like California’s families and businesses do. And as a U.S. senator, that is exactly what I will do.”
