“Government’s first and foremost priority must be to protect its citizens. A decision to try suspected terrorists in the United States would undermine that fundamental responsibility. The leaders of New York have raised legitimate concerns about the risks this decision would create, and I’m disappointed to see that they have been ignored. I strongly disagree with the policy decision the Obama administration has made on this issue, and I urge the President to respect the wishes of the American people. It’s also time for Barbara Boxer to put the security of Americans first.”
