OAKLAND, CA – U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today hosted a veterans roundtable at The Warehouse Bar and Grill in historic downtown Oakland to discuss public safety issues and other challenges facing the local community.
“The first and highest priority of government must be to protect its citizens. This responsibility is impossible to fulfill without the support of our nation’s men and women in uniform, first responders and public safety officials,” said Fiorina. “These brave public servants offer important insight into the toughest challenges facing our state’s communities. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to hear first hand their concerns and their ideas for a safer, more secure future.”
Earlier this month, Fiorina announced her grassroots leadership team, including Lieutenant Colonel Steve Richmond as chair of Veterans for Carly.
“Barbara Boxer’s unwillingness to stand up for our state endangers the lives and livelihoods of our fellow Californians. Her 18-year record clearly reflects her reluctance to prioritize California’s needs ahead of her own,” continued Fiorina. “As a U.S. Senator, I will put the needs of California’s families and communities first. In the coming months, I will continue to crisscross the state talking to the people of California and hearing directly from them how I can best meet their needs in Washington.”
In the three months since officially launching her U.S. Senate bid, Fiorina has traveled the state building grassroots support for her campaign. She has made campaign stops in cities across California, including hosting meetings in Vernon, Santa Ana, San Diego, Modesto and Salinas.
