Dave Rudat
Public Safety Professionals Coalition Director Dave Rudat has served in municipal government for over 35 years in positions ranging from firefighter/paramedic to fire chief to city manager. Dave has had an outstanding record of achievement in both public safety and in government. Dave helped pioneer the paramedic program in Orange County, served as a peace officer and court expert for arson and hazardous material investigations, was a member of the District Attorney’s Strike Force for Environmental Crimes, and provided leadership for the Urban Search and Rescue Program. Dave has years of financial and budgetary experience. While city manager, Dave was a member of the city’s Investment Advisory Committee, and he created the city’s Internal Audit Committee. Dave provided financial and budgetary leadership through 11 city budgets, most of which received recognition awards from the Government Finance Officers Association and the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers. He is experienced with local and state government issues, including taxation, revenue forecasting and public safety. Dave graduated from Long Beach State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, and he earned a master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. He currently is a Special Advisor for Management Partners, a professional management-consulting firm that helps government organizations increase their effectiveness by identifying issues and problems and recommending ways to improve operations. |
